AVA Studios’ primary mandate is to support and elevate talented Iranian film makers in diaspora and promote novel film-making ideas—while maintaining close collaboration with the industry inside the country. In conjunction, we aim to contribute to establishing a more systematic dissemination of Iranian films to audiences abroad and enhancing the position of Iranian cinema globally by penetrating the film markets of the United States and Europe. The idea is to better integrate Iranian cinema globally and blending its unique narratives and artistic expressions with the broader tapestry of world cinema. Naturally, this objective at the same time requires self-sustainability of the Studios through ensuring sufficient financial returns, the use of official grants (especially in Europe), and promoting private investment in our projects.
Ava Studios’ co-produced films, including “The Apple Day,” “Dreams’ Gate,” “Surviving Fortress,” and “Destiny,” have been acclaimed and featured at various international film festivals. Their focus has been on social issues (especially women and environment). Looking ahead, we have two promising feature films in production and a few more in development with renowned Iranian directors, cast and crew.
